UTMy Student Participates in UM's Hanabi Taikai
On 13th June 2026, UTMy students opened a booth at Universiti Malaya's Hanabi Taikai event.
Our students joined hands in creating wari-bashi jū (割り箸銃), or Japanese-style chopstick guns, which participants used to shoot paper cups in a fun and interactive shateki (射的) game. The booth attracted a large number of visitors throughout the event, with many guests eager to try it out.
The event provided an excellent opportunity for our students to engage with the wider community while sharing a traditional Japanese festival game. We were delighted by the overwhelming interest and enthusiastic participation shown by attendees of all ages.
Beyond operating the booth, the experience also allowed our students to develop valuable skills in event planning, teamwork, communication, and problem-solving. Through preparing materials, managing visitors, and working together throughout the day, students gained practical experience while enjoying the vibrant atmosphere of the festival.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Japanese Club Universiti Malaya for kindly inviting UTMy to participate in this year's Hanabi Taikai. We greatly appreciate the opportunity to be part of such a successful and enjoyable event.
Overall, the event was a rewarding experience for everyone involved, and our students had a wonderful time contributing to the festival's success.
