University of Tsukuba, Malaysia Welcomes New Students at 2025 Entrance Ceremony

On 2nd September, the School of Transdisciplinary Science and Design at the University of Tsukuba, Malaysia, held its entrance ceremony for the Class of 2025.

The event was graced by the presence of distinguished guests, including YBhg. Datin Noorazah, Under Secretary of the International Relations Division at the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia, and H.E. SHIKATA Noriyuki, Ambassador of Japan to Malaysia, alongside representatives from both countries. From the University of Tsukuba, attendees included President NAGATA Kyosuke, Vice President and Executive Director for Education KATO Mitsuyasu, Vice President for Student Affairs CHIBA Chikafumi, as well as faculty members, staff, and families of the new students.

A total of 15 incoming students officially embarked on their academic journey at the University of Tsukuba, Malaysia, which opened its doors on 1st September 2024 in Kuala Lumpur. It is the first overseas branch campus of a Japanese university authorized to confer Japanese degrees.



In addition to the newly enrolled students, 12 second-year students from the inaugural cohort are currently continuing their studies on campus.

Following the ceremony, an orientation session was held, providing an opportunity for first and second-year students to deepen their relationships and foster a sense of community.
