Traditional Japanese Dance Workshop at UTMy
As part of the Year 2 course “Understanding of Japanese Culture and Society I,” students participated in a Traditional Japanese Dance Workshop held on campus.
With the kind cooperation of the Japanese Traditional Dance Club of The Japan Club of Kuala Lumpur, the workshop offered students a valuable opportunity to learn how to wear a yukata, the proper etiquette when wearing it, and how to fold it neatly.
For many students—including Japanese students—it was their first experience wearing a yukata.
In the next session, students will have the chance to learn the traditional dance itself.
The “Understanding of Japanese Culture and Society I” course features four hands-on workshops: Traditional Dance, Tea Ceremony, Martial Arts, and Manga, allowing students to experience various aspects of Japanese culture.
UTMy offers an inspiring curriculum that provides a unique opportunity for those who are passionate about Japanese culture.
