Exploring Future Collaboration with SMK Chung Hua Miri
SMK Chung Hua Miri is a national Chinese secondary school located near the city centre of Miri, Sarawak. The school offers education from Form 1 to Form 6, with instruction primarily conducted in Malay and English, while maintaining strong proficiency in Mandarin. Serving a diverse student community, they emphasises holistic development through academic excellence and a wide range of extracurricular activities, including award-winning robotics competitions and various sports programmes.
We were pleased to meet with the school principal, Puan Lai Jia Ling, and the school counsellor, Puan Wong CK, to discuss potential future collaborations. While the school does not currently offer Japanese language classes, we were encouraged to learn that one of its students has been awarded a JPA-MARA scholarship to pursue studies in Japan.
The school is planning to organise an education fair later this year, and we hope to return to Miri to participate in the event.
We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Puan Lai Jia Ling and Puan Wong CK for warmly hosting us. We look forward to meeting the students during our next visit to Miri.
