MJRC-UTMy International Seminar 2025 ~ Malaysia Japan Cultural Dialogues

Malaysia-Japan Research Centre (MJRC) at Universiti Malaya, in collaboration with the Embassy of Japan in Malaysia and UTMy, co-organised an international seminar on Wednesday, 19 February.

The seminar began with a speech by Ms. KOMATSU AYAKO, titled "My Door that Malaysia Has Opened," in which she shared her journey of creating children's literature while working as a librarian.
This was followed by a presentation from Ms. YE HUI, a Malaysian-born translator and University of Tsukuba alumnus, on "The Reception of Haruki Murakami's Works in Malaysia."

In addition to researchers, UTMy students actively participated in the session.

One of the UTMy student said, "It was a great opportunity to further fuel my motivation to study Japanese and Japanese culture."

Located within the same building (Wisma R&D at UM), UTMy looks forward to strengthening connections among those involved in the study of Japanese language and culture.
