Inspiring Future Pathways at SMK St. Columba Education Fair


UTMy participated in the Education Fair held at SMK St. Columba, Miri, on Tuesday 13 January 2026.
SMK St. Columba is the oldest school in Miri, Sarawak. Founded in 1929, the school is located approximately one kilometre from the city centre and offers education to Form 5, preparing students for national examination SPM.

During the fair, we engaged with more than 100 Form 4 and Form 5 students to introduce UTMy and its degree programme. The students showed strong interest in exploring their future educational pathways, making the session both meaningful and enjoyable. While many were not previously familiar with the University of Tsukuba, the fair provided a valuable opportunity for them to learn about UT and UTMy.

We would like to express our sincere appreciation to Mr. Yuan Meng Yong for inviting us to participate in the fair and for his generous support throughout the event.

We look forward to welcoming SMK St. Columba students again in the future at UTMy.
