University of Tsukuba and Universiti Malaya Co-Host Global Student Leadership Summit 2026
The University of Tsukuba and Universiti Malaya (UM), under the leadership of Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE), jointly organised Global Student Leadership Summit (GSLS) 2026 to strengthen international cooperation and leadership education.
Held under the theme “Fostering Future Global Leaders”, the summit brought together students from national universities in Malaysia, including UM, and the University of Tsukuba. Participants engaged in workshops, presentations, and discussions focused on global issues and leadership development. The event also provided opportunities to network, exchange perspectives, and deepen mutual understanding across cultures, highlighting the universities’ shared commitment to nurturing future global leaders through international collaboration.
One of UTMy’s students, Marin Ono, who received the Best Student Award last academic year, presented her paper, “Enhancing the LRT Braking System Using Fuzzy Logic for Improved Safety and Passenger Comfort”, which was her first PBL (Project-Based Learning) theme. This marked her debut presentation at an international conference.
This marked her debut presentation at an international conference, providing her with valuable experience in international academic communication and collaboration with students from Malaysia and Japan.
